Share the Joy of Music Through the Magic of the Ukulele

At The Ukulele Project, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence, and sense of belonging that comes from making music.

We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and creative teachers to help us bring that experience to elementary students throughout Portland, Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Tigard, Tualatin, Vancouver, WA, and surrounding communities.

If you love music, enjoy working with kids, and want to make a meaningful impact in your community, we'd love to hear from you.

This Is Not Your Typical Music Teaching Job

Our classes are filled with games, movement, singing, creativity, laughter, and lots of encouragement.

Students learn music through play. They sing songs, play ukulele, write music, participate in group activities, perform for their families, and discover that they are capable of more than they thought possible.

We're not just teaching chords and songs.

We're helping students develop confidence, creativity, resilience, communication skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Ukulele Project teacher isn't necessarily the strongest musician in the room.

They're the person who learns students' names, makes shy kids feel welcome, keeps a room focused without being harsh, celebrates effort over perfection, and creates an environment where students can't wait to come back next week.

Our best teachers are positive, adaptable, encouraging, and genuinely enjoy spending time with kids. They understand that we're not just teaching music—we're helping students build confidence, creativity, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
